The Mediation Center exists to help Africans in the diaspora find culturally competent solutions to conflicts without going through the court systems. We offer neutral support to help people understand their disputes and find common ground — to stop conflicts before they get worse.
Our goal is to create safe spaces for dialogue to preserve the relationships that sustain the strength of African diaspora communities. We account for the unique, nuanced details that affect disputes — African beliefs, traditions, and values systems; varying interests in the native country; issues of echelon and status; extended family structures; and more.
